Cornerstone OnDemand is looking for a VP, Corporate Controller to lead our Corporate Accounting and Reporting team as we continue to enhance the infrastructure needed to support our business growth. This position will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of Global Accounting, Financial and External Reporting by providing leadership, business collaboration, process knowledge, and technical expertise.
This person will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer and be responsible for all areas of Corporate Accounting and External Reporting and will work with the organization’s leadership team to ensure that financial and strategic goals are attained. The Corporate Controller will be a seasoned executive with integrity, vision, drive, intelligence, and capability. He/she will be highly motivated and have the ability and desire to shape the future of the business. The successful candidate will be a multi-dimensional thinker who operates not only on the basis of important past experiences but also considers new approaches and developments that occur in the changing market. What you will do…
Accountable for the finance objectives and accounting policies of the company
Own the monthly and quarterly close and financial reporting processes, with a focus on compliance and driving improvements to enable business decisions
Direct oversight and responsibility for all aspects of SEC reporting, Technical Accounting, Corporate Accounting, International and Statutory Accounting and related filings
Responsible for overseeing our SOX program and our Controls and Compliance function
Identify financial reporting and business risks and instrumental in implementing mitigation strategies.
Establish, monitor, and maintain the system of internal controls that ensures the integrity of all critical systems, processes and data
Primary point of contact with external auditors, driving efficiencies and proactively addressing emerging and complex accounting issues
Develop comprehensive quarterly financial reporting package to support financials and to enable timely analysis of results and related disclosures
Work closely with FP&A to develop robust budget to actual reporting and ensuring understanding of variances to budget
Build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels across the organization and work cross functionally to accomplish goals within and outside of finance
Provide support for ad-hoc projects and analysis along with financial presentations for executive management and the Board of Directors
Listen and work to the best outcome for the company.
Ability to influence areas outside direct control.
Build scale and critically analyze processes to drive efficiencies and reduce time to close
Lead, motivate and develop a team of accounting professionals to grow their careers by enhancing processes, developing technical capabilities, building relationships with the business, and solving problems.

You have what it takes if you…
15+ years of total Accounting/Finance related experience, including Big 4 public accounting experience and previous corporate accounting roles in publicly traded companies
10+ years in a leadership role with proven ability to lead and manage teams
CPA required – inactive ok.
Technical GAAP expertise
Experience building new capabilities, with a process orientation
Experience presenting to executive leadership and audit committees
Ability to deal with ambiguity and comfortable with driving change
Strong leadership skills, ability to develop people and used to working with geographically dispersed teams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
