Transportation Finance Specialist GS-0501-7/9/11/12 (Open to Status and VEOA Applicants):
The Florida Division office is located in the state’s beautiful capital city of Tallahassee. Tallahassee, nestled among the rolling hills of northwest Florida, is located in the center of the eight-county "Big Bend" area. With a population of about 190,000, Tallahassee is also home to Florida State University and Florida A&M University. There are an abundance of attractions locally such as museums, a zoo, parks and outdoor recreation, including fishing, hiking, nature trails, etc. The Gulf of Mexico is less than 40 miles south of Tallahassee while a trip to Disney or a trip to Atlanta is just a short 4-hour drive.
Enjoy a brief 15-20 minute commute along Tallahassee’s picturesque canopy roads. Tallahassee has the mild climate characteristics of the Gulf States, and experiences a subtropical summer similar to the rest of Florida. In contrast to the Florida peninsula, however, the panhandle, of which Tallahassee is a part, experiences all four seasons. With an annual average high of 79 o and annual average low of 56 o, temperatures do drop into the 30s and reach the 90s. So, there’s something for everyone!
