The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) seeks a Controller who is accurate with details, timely with meeting deadlines, and can think creatively and strategically in planning for NCEA's long-term success. The Controller supervises a staff of 2 and reports to NCEA's Chief Administrative Officer.
The Controller will lead the Finance operation, overseeing A/P, A/R, Payroll, financial statement preparation, cash management, and budget and operational analysis. The Controller also will manage preparation of the annual audit, the 990-T, and the annual report. The Controller is responsible for timely filing of forms, permits and reports required by state, federal and local authorities, including tax exemptions in various states and registration as a charitable organization, among others. The Controller will participate in Finance Committee and Board of Directors meetings as needed.
BA and CPA required.
Must have 7-10 years of experience in accounting and finance, including 2-4 years of management/supervisory experience.
Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience with accounting for non-profit entities, including a 501(c)3 and/or a 501(c)6.
Must have experience with grant accounting.
Experience with managing operations in multiple states highly desired.
Familiarity with the iMIS Association Management System preferred.
Must collaborate effectively with others who are engaged in mission-driven work supporting Catholic education.
