Exciting opportunity to join our well-established and growing nonprofit organization as an Assistant Vice President/Controller (AVP/C)!
Reporting to the Vice President of Administration and Finance/Chief Financial Officer, the AVP/C will have a wide variety of leadership duties including:
Working closely with the CFO on all financial reporting, policies and fiscal compliance matters;
Leading the accounting team work including G/L, Accounts Payable, monthly close, cash, audit, financial statement preparation;
Reviewing various balance sheet account reconciliations, journal entries, etc. to ensure accuracy of account balances;
Responsible for the annual financial statement audit, 990, UFR;
Providing timely financial information to members of the operations teams;
Responsible for the G/L system and chart of accounts, including recommending and implementing ongoing improvements;
Working closely with other members of the Finance Department including contracts, 3rd party, FP&A to ensure the integrity of financial information
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm

High level of technical and accounting skills – experience with Great Plains or a system of similar complexity would be ideal; advanced Excel skills; deep understanding of fund accounting and nonprofit fiscal compliance;
Ability to work on multiple projects and juggle changing priorities in a fast paced environment and roll up your sleeves to get the job done;
Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills; ability to explain financial information to a non-financial audience;
As a member of the leadership team, must be a collaborative problem solver, working with various members of the organization
Bachelor’s Degree in finance or accounting required, with a MSA or MBA and /or CPA highly preferred
Five years finance/leadership experience required, ideally in a nonprofit setting of comparable complexity as Riverside Community Care
Experience in managing a complex G/L System
