Based in Houston, TX, the successful candidate will contribute to, and be an active participant in, the USA and Corporate Financial Team. This new position is being created to provide support for the USA Management team through the next stage of company growth and expansion. The successful candidate will lead and mentor the USA accounting and finance team and will primarily report directly to the Corporate Chief Financial Officer for financial system, financial reporting, and treasury functions, and will also report to the USA President for other matters or projects that may be delegated by the USA President such as insurance, employee benefit plans, billing and various customer issues.
Specific responsibilities will include:
Recommending, implementing and maintaining internal controls with respect to financial policies, processes and procedures, with a focus on identifying and implementing process and efficiency improvements;
Monthly and quarterly financial reporting;
Management of accounting staff, including hiring, development, and mentoring of team members, and assisting Senior Management in management of other administrative and support staff;
Liaise directly with the Systems/IT Group for systems implementations and integrations;
Management of day-to-day treasury function;
Oversight of various tax filings and compliance issues, including reporting in multiple jurisdictions;
Management of annual financial, worker’s comp, and client audits;
Liaise with various external company lenders, auditors, legal counsel, insurers, and tax authorities; and
Various ad hoc reporting.
Education and Experience:
An accounting degree and a CPA designation;
10 years’ post-designation experience in a related industry;
Possess a solid understanding of full-cycle accounting for a service company, in an environment with batched processes;
Experience in managing accounting functions within an organization of similar P&L scope, scale and complexity;
Experience in managing an accounting and finance team spread across multiple geographies;
Experience with Sage 300 ERP considered an asset; and
Experience in working closely with operational management to ensure client needs are satisfied while also ensuring tight internal reporting deadlines are met.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage time sensitive issues in a fast-paced working environment;
