Job Summary: Help lead an innovative social enterprise as a key member of the executive team, overseeing all financial accounting and reporting aspects of the business. As a $25MM annual business, Lighthouse Louisiana employs over 80 visually impaired individuals running a large-scale paper towel and cup manufacturing operation as a well as offering blind, deaf and other community services supporting over 1200 individuals annually. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team and help support a thriving manufacturing and service business that has been a pillar of the New Orleans community for 100 years.
Responsible for all functional areas of accounting including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records and grants administration.
Responsible for all functional areas of finance including financial reporting and analysis, cash flow projections, banking, budgeting and insurance.
Manage Accounting, Procurement, and IT departments, building professional growth and collaboration amongst the team.
Manage auditors, annual financial audits and comply with and report on all Federal, State and Local tax and regulatory matters.
Analyze one off ventures and special projects including large capital expenditures, capital campaigns, land and building purchases, etc.
Collaborate with other key executive team members including VP of Manufacturing to drive cost efficiencies and the Director of Development for grant proposals and accounting.
Collaborate with program leaders to support their financial needs and work towards successful mission driven outcomes.
Manage banking, information technology and insurance relationships.
Follow all ISO procedures as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the President.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field (Masters or CPA preferred).
Special Knowledge or Skills: Strong financial acumen, with experience overseeing GAAP financial statement accounting, reporting and analysis. Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills, which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting.
Experience: Participating in senior leadership of an organization and leading an accounting team.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Oversees and manages all staff in the Accounting, Procurement, and IT departments.
Physical: Ability to perform job functions listed. Ability to travel independently to off-site locations. Able to travel throughout the facility to manage all work responsibilities safely and effectively, breaks, and emergency evacuations, with or without a reasonable accommodation. Able to manage all self-care needs and activities of daily living as required to support successful employment, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Personality Traits: A strong leader, with great interpersonal skills, a can-do attitude, detailed and task oriented ability to meet deadlines, team player, and a self-starter.
Working Conditions: Office setting. Must be willing to travel to other locations. Valid insurance and unexpired driver’s license is required.
Work Schedule: At least 40 hours per week with additional hours required. Salaried/Exempt Must be flexible and able to work extended hours when needed and as business requires.
