The Financial Controller role has primary day-to-day “hands on” responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial and operational reporting. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, capital expenditure analysis, and working capital management. The Financial Controller is expected to maintain strong systems and controls to safeguard corporate assets and ensure corporate policies are being followed. The Financial Controller is also responsible for managing ongoing audit and banking relationships including covenant reporting.
The Financial Controller role is a critical tactical and strategic position working collaboratively with the company’s CEO, President, CFO, and Management Team to execute on the strategic plan. The Financial Controller is expected to be a true “business partner” and work effectively across all functional areas of the company. This position will also support our office in Hong Kong. The Financial Controller is expected to be a positive impact across the company and enhance the company’s culture internally as well with customers, suppliers and key third parties.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer of UAM, the Financial Controller has a key role to play in the development of the business and the financial output of the business, including monthly and annual reporting, planning, budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
The position will assist in setting strategic finance goals and targets for the company, overseeing most financial activity, and ensuring that efficient and effective use is made of available resources to achieve maximum profitability and financial health of UAM.
The Financial Controller must have experience in corporate financial planning and strategy, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, financial analysis and reporting, modeling and valuation, and understanding the key business indicators of a company and the critical linkage between corporate strategy, operational and technical decision making, and financial planning.
The Financial Controller should bring a successful blend of entrepreneurial disposition and small company. The Financial Controller will develop credibility with the Management Team and financial partners by providing overall leadership, pertinent insight, and the timely and accurate analysis of budgets, reporting and financial trends in order to assist the Chief Executive Officer, President and the Management Team in performing their responsibilities.
Successful experience leading finance in an organization with revenues of at least $50MM in a multi-location environment with proven ability to manage rapid growth.
Successful experience leading finance, managing cash flow and working capital in a highly seasonal business cycle environment.
Successful experience in implementing/managing an effective, metrics-based reporting package.
Successful experience in implementing/managing a robust customer and vendor data analytics reporting process.
