Multinational organization located in Hauppauge is seeking a Vice President, Corporate Controller to oversee all day-to-day operations for its accounting department. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a global team and be viewed as the “subject matter expert” within the organization.
In this role, you will:
Direct and control the general accounting and cost accounting functions.
Review monthly consolidated financial statements and related account analysis.
Improve the close process to 5 days or less.
Utilize flux and variance analysis from revenue, COGS, and OpEx to include business themes and actionable commentary.
Oversee month-end closing, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L process.
Oversee year-end close process and financial reporting.
Act as the primary interface for accounting internal and external audits.
Take ownership and enhance the company’s accounting policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local corporate, payroll, and other applicable taxes.
Perform monthly G/L reconciliations.
Perform financial process control activities to ensure internal compliance.
Provide timely, accurate, and complete reports on financial projections and actual results to include timely completion of meaningful analytics and variance analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to support reporting for management, BoD, and/or lenders.
Manage and ensure data integrity within the ERP and/or accounting systems.
Maintain fixed assets ledger.
Perform other duties and assist with special projects when requested.
15+ years of experience performing accounting and financial analysis in a corporate structure
5 years of experience managing a large team of accounting/finance professionals
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus
Understanding and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
High energy, dynamic professional with strong leadership presence
Strong analytical and verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of Fixed Price, T&M, and Cost-Plus contract types; ability to understand and apply contracts from a financial perspective
Proven experience with setting strategic goals and direction to establish operating business priorities
Ability to handle sensitive materials and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
