Member service organization serving CPAs in Pennsylvania is seeking an experienced CPA with significant audit experience to play a key role in the administration of the AICPA Peer Review Program for Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The technical reviewer will collaborate with peer reviewers to complete technical reviews of peer review materials, provide technical support for the peer review committee and serve as a member resource on matters related to technical and professional standards.
The successful CPA candidate will have a minimum of five years of audit experience including recent experience in Single Audits, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, work well with a team, and comfortably interact with members. Must have good presentation skills and be comfortable working in a paperless environment. Occasional travel as needed.
Perform technical aspects of the peer review program including:
Performing timely technical reviews of peer review materials for compliance with professional standards, including applicable follow-up with reviewers and firms;
Assisting with peer review report acceptance meetings, taking meeting minutes, and communicating conclusions to the reviewers and firms;
Reviewing peer reviewer and firm follow up actions and working with the committee to consider and conclude;
Assisting with other peer review committee activities (e.g., scheduling meetings, accepting designated reviews on behalf of the committee, coordinating any appeals to the committee by reviews and/or firms, drafting meeting minutes, running monitoring reports, etc.).
Performing selected oversights; assisting with annual reviewer resume oversights; drafting and finalizing deficiency letters for reviewers as authorized by the committee; and coordinating hearing panels.
Assist in various technical projects and programs.
Assisting with technical inquiries from practitioners and the general public (e.g., ethics, peer review, and other technical topics).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Accounting Equivalency
CPA with 5+ years recent audit experience
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Exceptional attention to detail
Excellent time management skills
Commitment to providing outstanding member service
Working knowledge of MS Office - ability to learn several databases
Reliable and self-motivated individual, able to work independently with minimal direction
